St Christopher’s extensive scholarship programme is an exciting addition to the school. It allows us to recognise the exceptional contributions of talented and exceptional students.
As a not-for-profit school with an enviable reputation internationally, St Christopher’s School is embarking upon an ambitious building programme, so now is an ideal time to become a St Chris Scholar.
Full scholarship details including how to apply can be found below and in this handbook.
There are three different types of scholarships available: academic, sport, and music. The awarding of scholarships will be determined by the School’s Scholarship Committee that consists of three Board members, Principal, and Head of Senior School.
The Scholarship Committee ensures transparency and fairness in the awarding of scholarships. Please note that there will be no financial gain for any family that already receives some fee reduction. However, in these cases a student may still be awarded a Scholarship but without any financial gain.
Scholarships are available to all students, whether currently studying at St Christopher’s or a student elsewhere. Students who currently receive a reduction in their fees are eligible to apply but would receive no further fee reduction. If a student is successful then they would be able to use the term ‘Scholar’ and note this on their applications to universities and colleges if applicable.
There are a limited number of financial scholarships available each year, determined by the school’s Finance Sub-Committee and the Scholarship Committee.
Scholarships will be reviewed on an annual basis by the Scholarship Committee with a clear expectation that the student maintains the high standard demonstrated when the scholarship was awarded.
Fee reductions will range from 0% to 20% and may also include the waiving of some participation fees such as in music or sport.
Applicants should provide all documents and videos (if needed) as detailed in the sections below, and should be included in one email and sent to:

Successful applicants will be invited to an evaluation day that may include trial games, practice sessions, and both formal and informal interviews, depending on your chosen sport.
This approach allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the history and engagement of the students in sport, as well as other relevant life factors that may influence their sporting development.
Given the time constraints in the scholarship assessment days, students are permitted to select only one sport for evaluation. However, any additional sporting talents will be considered through the submission of references, interviews, and video evidence showcasing their playing and training capabilities.
Furthermore, it is important to note that Sport Scholarships are specifically designed for students who demonstrate not only excellence but also possess considerable potential in their nominated sports.
As a baseline requirement, candidates are expected to meet or exceed the equivalent of elite club level or reach national standard within their sport in Bahrain.
This rigorous selection process ensures that we identify and support the most promising young athletes in our programme.
