Al Raffa, Bahrain – November 5, 2024: St Christopher’s School celebrated a major milestone on Tuesday, November 5th, with the official groundbreaking ceremony for its highly anticipated new Senior School campus in Al Raffa.This much-anticipated occasion marks a significant leap forward for the project as the physical construction of the new campus is now well underway.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education; His Majesty’s Ambassador from the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Alastair Long; St Christopher’s Principal, Dr. Simon Watson; and Shaikha Tareef, Deputy Chair of St Christopher’s Board of Governors. Also in attendance were Mr. Ahmed M. Jalal, Managing Director of Mohammed Jalal and Sons W.L.L., and Mr. Thamer Salahuddin, Vice Chairman of the Board and Managing Director at MSCEB.
The event was further supported by members of St Christopher’s Board of Governors including Dina Kasrawi, Hawra Murad, Mohammed Khalid and Hamad Al Shaibeh, the Executive Leadership Team and key representatives from project partners, including DG Jones and BWS, underscoring the collaborative effort involved in bringing this ambitious project to life.
Principal Simon Watson expressed gratitude for the support from all involved parties and emphasised the school’s vision for the future. “Today, we have laid the foundation for a campus that will empower generations of students to thrive and succeed. This groundbreaking represents our commitment to delivering on our promise of an exceptional learning environment for all families in Bahrain.”
